EUROPA IN SZENE | Special Edition »SEA CHANGE« - Die Kunst der Verwandlung
The theater festival EUROPA IN SZENE is inspired by the visionary and poetic thinking of a Virginia Woolf, but also of a William Shakespeare or Fritz von Herzmanovsky-Orlando and of Mediterranean myths such as those of the "raging Roland" (Ariosto's Orlando Furioso), or the Ovid ́s Metamorphoses. Exemplary narratives about the art of transformation can be experienced in contemporary interpretations by wortwiege and its international guests.
With DIDO, a work by the renowned Turkish choreographer and dancer Korhan Basaran can be experienced in Austria for the first time. Also in the program is the lecture-performance LUCY WAS NOT LONG AGO by the internationally working performer, author and director Aleksandar Acev from Zagreb. The central frame of SEA CHANGE is ORLANDO TRIP as a cinematic music theater by Fox on Ice, in which the transformation journey of the mythical character Orlando is staged in 12 songs and intermezzi. Other gems of the festival are the guest performance CAVALIERE HUSCHER by Fritz von Herzmanovsky-Orlando in a production by Karl Baratta and OVIDS METAMORPHOSEN in a tasting by wortwiege.
