Off into the hotly contested place of worship that is the bullring! The atmosphere of a corrida: a snorting bull, a dashing fighter with cloth and sword, the passion of the audience. The mood during El Adaptador: carried by Bizet’s Carmen music, Marco Berrettini and Milena Keller enter the stage in magnificent costumes. However, their “corrida” deviates from the cult and hits where it doesn’t hurt any animal. But the fans of the unfair Spanish sport instead, and those who tolerate factory farming so that their meat remains ostensibly cheap. The heroic myth is dismantled with digs and sharpness, creating a wholesome surplus. Because, according to Berrettini, this piece is ultimately intended to “banish the frustration that arises from the contradictions in our human relationships today”.
