Koutkekout

After the assassination of President Jovenel Moïse in 2021, Haiti has been gripped by gang violence that terrorizes daily life. In this climate, a group of theatre artists refuses to retreat. They risk everything to take the stage, gathering each year at the Festival 4 Chemins in Port-au-Prince.
The film follows these artists as they craft a space of freedom in the midst of chaos. Their work blends history, personal stories, poetry, and performance, offering a vision of Haiti shaped not only by suffering but by imagination and resolve. In a country where theatre lives in the streets, in vodou, in politics, they continue to speak through their art — navigating myth and reality, fear and hope. Koutkekout portrays their resistance and the courage it takes simply to keep going.
