K-Toons Scroll the Story

In collaboration with the National Asian Culture Center Foundation (ACCF) of the Republic of Korea, the Weltmuseum Wien explores how Korean comics and webtoons have transformed visual culture, shifting it from printed pages to smartphone screens and transmedia worlds.

At the center of the exhibition are two artistic positions: Hur Young-man (born 1947), one of Korea’s most renowned comic artists, and the creators of the web novel and webtoon Solo Leveling. Through original artworks, source material, projections, interactive installations, and immersive displays, the presentation reveals how Korean storytelling brings together tradition, technology, and imagination.
