EVA GRUBINGER Malady of the Infinite
© Eva Grubinger
Eva Grubinger explores the perception of seemingly familiar things, which she abstracts and spotlights by using magnification, changing their material, or decontextualizing them. In doing so, the sculptor highlights thematic intersections. For her exhibition at Belvedere 21, Grubinger has conceived a walk-in installation in which high life clashes with the issue of survival on the high seas.
Eva Grubinger was born in Salzburg in 1970 and lives in Berlin. Recent exhibitions include the Busan Biennale, the Bloomberg Space in London, the London Institute of Contemporary Arts, Witte de With in Rotterdam, the Lisbon Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, the Marrakech Biennale, the ZKM in Karlsruhe, and the Schirn Kunsthalle in Frankfurt am Main.
