Enter a multitalent: Canadian actor, composer, musician and choreographer Clara Furey. As a dancer, she has worked with greats such as Benoît Lachambre and Damien Jalet. In 2018, the daughter of an actor and a composer impressed the audience at ImPulsTanz in mumok with her solo When Even The. Now she presents her latest piece at the festival: the polyphonic dance trio Dog Rising, in which Furey herself performs together with Brian Mendez and Be Heintzman Hope. They dance like three vibrating celestial bodies in a lascivious and hypnotic ritual. Almost like dancing in a club, the dancers concentrate in loops on the circulation of matter and on the intersecting of vibrations in our bodies to the hypnotic sounds of Furey’s brother Tomas. The piece is extremely contagious: it awakens and makes the audience sensitive to their sensory perception. Tensions are reduced and bodily strength is regenerated with a great deal of empathy in this extreme physical journey.
