Cie. Mette Ingvartsen (BE/DK) Delirious Night

In view of the countless anxieties of the present and in memory of the restrictions during the Covid pandemic, outstanding Danish choreographer Mette Ingvartsen places her trust in the liberating excess of dance mania. Nine dancers run out of control. They work themselves into a “rave”, similar to the dance frenzies that broke out in various places across Europe, especially during the Middle Ages. Back then, crowds danced for days and nights on end, until they fainted or even died. The question behind this is whether these outbursts of movement frenzy can be understood as social and political events.
