The Goldberg Variations and the Magnificat, two of Johann Sebastian Bach’s greatest works, play the main musical roles in these two pieces by multi-award-winning Canadian choreographer Marie Chouinard. BodyremixRemix is a reformulation of an earlier successful production, and in Magnificat the arias mutate into embodiments of beings in their own right. Beauty and grace set the pace for the dance, when the twelve members of the company delve into body extensions and prostheses with almost provocative matter-of-factness or visualise the choral and solo hymns of praise in honour of St. Mary.
