Care underpins human coexistence. This exhibition addresses central dimensions of care work, making visible forms of labor that often remain unseen and are frequently carried out under precarious conditions. Through objects and images, the artists develop a contemporary semiotics of the kitchen, reflect on motherhood within the art world, and evoke intergenerational solidarity in moving depictions of elder care.

The presentation traces a line from the Feminist Avant-Garde of the 1970s to contemporary positions. Curated by founding director Gabriele Schor, the VERBUND COLLECTION’s exhibition seeks to foreground the social and cultural value of care work, which continues to be performed predominantly by women.
