Anne Juren: Sensorial Transference

Sensorial Transference is a choreographic ‘session’ inviting the audience to take part in the bodily experience of a patient. French­ born Viennese choreographer, dancer and researcher Anne Juren is well versed in such experiments with physical symptoms. She works with the historical, sensorial and cellular body and has recently choreographed a series of Symptom Pieces, in which she created Fantasmical Anatomies to demon­ strate that the ability to imagine something “can create phantom limbs that are as concrete as bones”, for instance.
