Artists engage for the complex subject matter PEACE and present their positions.

a project by Dr. Kolja Kramer

There they are again:
Social tension, political fires and conflicts, terror, rearmament, signs of a cold war, and the danger of and real military conflict.

In the memorial year 2018, 100 years after World War I, the exhibition PEACE will be opened during the period of the Austrian presidency at the European Union.

Representatives of the young generation are vigilant - and call for the sensitization of society and politics for the complex subject peace.

From Austria and from numerous countries of the world significant young artists who have been involved in the project by Kolja Kramer - who felt the necessity of doing something for peace in the cultural sector due to the actual situation in the world - recall the unconditional importance of peace and actively engage with their artistic work for peace and peace-promoting measures presented in the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna (Atelierhaus, former Semperdepot) in order to stimulate dialogue for peace in this open regional and international artistic context.

Positions in this pictorial flatwork-exhibition range from inner peace to peace among two and more people, to social and political peace as well as peace among human beings and nature as they all are considered to be related.

The aim of this project is to point out peace-promoting engagement for peace. It reaches out for the individual, the family, the circle of friends, neighbourhood, district, city and the regions. Still, this project PEACE is regional AND international in terms of participation, cooperation, communication and relevance and it is designed to jointly reach broad parts of societies in order to sensibilise for the important subject matter peace now.
