Peter Kubelka's Cyclical Programme "What is Film?" was created in 1996 on the occasion of the centenary of cinema. In 63 programmes of outstanding works, this series defines film as an independent art form, as a tool which cultivates new ways of thinking.

Viking Eggeling was a Swedish avant-garde artist and filmmaker connected to dadaism, Constructivism and abstract art and was one of the pioneers in absolute film and visual music.
