“Redemption Blues,” a film by Peter Stastny, is a film about the difficult legacy of the Holocaust and the insights of some of the last contemporary witnesses. He begins where usual Shoah representations end, drawing a path forward in search of moments of redemption from the perspective of the second generation.

The film is a very personal examination of history, through which a future with the legacy of the Shoah becomes conceivable. The presentations of the contemporary witnesses in dialogue with the director's voice are woven into a musical stream that flows away from nostalgic and religious sources into an ocean of free improvisation: A blues with echoes of redemption.

“Redemption Blues” celebrated its world premiere at the Ethnocineca International Documentary Film Festival in May 2018.
