Belgian star choreographer Anne Teresa De Keersmaeker has developed a particularly intensive connection with Johann Sebastian Bach’s highly elaborate music over several of her works. Now she presents her danced version of the quintessence of Bach’s oeuvre: the six Suites for Violoncello Solo, played live on stage by world-renowned French cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras. In solos and duets and a brilliant final quintet an intimate dialogue is created between the musician and the dancers about life, death and redemption.
