Annie Dorsen: Spokaoke

For once, to give a polished lecture, make a big speech, address a fascinated auditorium with moving words, become a Martin Luther King, a Sojourner Truth or Socrates! This is now possible thanks to New York director Annie Dorsen, who invites her audience to "Spokaoke". For this spoken karaoke she has collected more than 90 great speeches delivered by politicians, award winners and witnesses before a court, among other things, and prepared them for recitation. According to the artist, each of these speeches contains a utopia, and with each recitation history comes to life again.
